Playing an Outdoor game

Introduction

Outdoor games are self-managed city-wide adventure games played through an app on your smartphone. You move around the city using the app's GPS and complete a range of fun challenges and brain teasers.
Groups play in teams of 4 and one person per team (Team Captain) downloads the app onto their phone / device.

Note that these instructions are specifically for playing outdoor games. If you are looking for indoor games, check out this article here: Playing an In Person game

The Set-Up

When you make a booking, you should receive an email with the download instructions for the Loquiz App as well as your login information. If you haven't received this, please contact support@teamactivities.com.
Split up your group into teams of 4 and assign one Team Captain per team.
Provide the Team Captains with the download instructions for the app.

We highly reccomend asking the Team Captains to download the app the day before the event so that our support team can assist if needed and it wont impact the start of your event

All devices used should meet the minimum system requirements. If you are having trouble with the app, please check this article for more information: Minimum System Requirements for Loquiz

How it works

On the day of your event, go to the start / meeting point (this can be found in your event email)
The organiser sets up the teams and assigns a team captain, if not done so already (see above)
The organiser provides the team captains with the login details (username and password)
Once logged in, the teams should see a map of their surrounding areas on the app with pins placed around the city.
To activate the challenge or task within the pin, walk towards it on your map. Once you are close enough, the task will appear with instructions.

Check out the reccomended time for your chosen event and tell the teams where to meet up after playing the game. You can all get together and announce the winners! You can also access your game media via the link on your event email. More information can be found on this here: Accessing your game media

Tip: Teams can chat with each other within the app using the chat button and they can also keep an eye on the scoreboard.

Be careful when entering the Username and Password, these are case sensitive. Note that some letters and numbers can look similar. eg. Capital O (as in Oscar) is very like a Zero 0. Capital I (as in Ireland) is very like the number 1 or a small letter l (as in lemon).
