Playing a virtual game

Introduction

For international and remote teams playing virtually, participants can connect, join teams and play together from anywhere in the world. When players join a team, we synchronise all devices within that team. Folow the below instructions to play any of our indoor games virtually.

The Set-Up

When playing virtually the game and the video call can all be on one device, we recommend a desktop or laptop but you can also use a phone.
A video conferencing application to hear and see teammates (i.e Ms Teams or Zoom)
A game link for your selected game (you should have received this in an email when booking)
It's always good to have headphones for a better experience.

Tip: We reccomend using a platform that has breakout rooms to allow the group to be split up into teams to play.

How it works

The host of your event books a game and receives the link and game instructions in an email.
The host sets up a call and sends this to all the participants
On the day of the event, players join the call, and the organiser can drop the game link into the chat.
The host splits the teams up into breakout rooms and they begin playing (don't forget to set a time limit so the teams know how long they have)

Tip: The game link should be dropped into the chat prior to guests been sent to breakout rooms.

Creating teams

The host can create teams before the game begins or Players can also create their own teams when they start the game. There is no limit to how many teams can be created or how many players can play. It is recommended that each team have a maximum of 4 players.

Playing the game

On the day of your event, all players join the video call.
The host should give a short introduction on the game and provide the game link in the chat
Players should then be split into breakout rooms, this will be their team (we reccomend 4 people in each team)
Once in the breakout room, the players should click on the game link, watch the introduction video and then join a team.

Tip: We reccomend numbering the teams when creating them in the game (eg Team 1, Team 2 etc and then the players can join the team that corresponds to their breakout room number)

When players join a team, their devices will become synchronised, this means that any player in that team can input and submit an answer. All players need to agree on the answer before submitting as you only have one chance per question. When a player hits next, everyone in the team will move on together.

Tip: It is a good idea to nominate a team captain who can input answers and have the final vote on any disputes.
